Alligator Point News

Interest in the Alligator Point area is on the increase.  We have been showing lots of property and even closed the highest sale in over a year on Alligator Point.  Most buyers are interested in houses that are not much more expensive than vacant lots.

There was a great turnout at the beach renourishment meeting last Tuesday at the Mission by the Sea.  Three of our county commissioners attended along with Alan Pierce, the financing consultant, and the coastal engineer.  Over 100 residents and property owners attended, and the meeting was even covered by the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee.

Beach renourishment and the road resurfacing are moving forward for construction this year.  Most property owners that spoke were supportive of the renourishment despite the additional tax expense.  It is likely that the new funding will be in the form of a MSBU that is a set amount based on the location of the property rather than based on the value of the property.  The county commission did agree to consider including a TIFF mechanism that would apply some increased tax revenue due to increased values towards the renourishment funding.

You guessed it! Harbor Point Realty has to get out of the way for the bulldozers at the South Shoal site.
