Crawfordville is the county seat of Wakulla County, Florida. It has the distinction of being the only county seat in the state of Florida that is not incorporated as a city. The only incorporated cities in Wakulla County are Shopchoppy and St Marks.

Crawfordville is located about 30 minutes south of Tallahassee, the capital of Florida. Crawfordville is convenient enough for residents to take advantage of the amenities of Tallahassee such as the airport and healthcare and sporting events and shopping

Crawfordville is located halfway between Tallahassee and the Gulf Coast. This makes it ideal for coastal adventures such as fishing, boating, beachcombing as well as visiting all the natural areas that surround it. Residents of Crawfordville can work in Tallahassee at one of the major employers, attend the University, see a movie, catch a plane, and go fishing in the Gulf, all within 30 minutes of their homes.

Over 80% of the area is owned by the state and federal government and unlikely to be developed. Therefore even though Crawfordville has developed as a suburban area with new grocery stores and other amenities, it remains a rural community.

One of the biggest benefits of Crawfordville is that it’s located in the Wakulla County school system which is rated as one of the best in the state.
